IO2: Integrated Parents’ Autism Training Module -IPAT Module
The IPAT Module have been developed as a standard training package to be designed using the results of the literature review and of the Focus groups. Preliminary content considered:
a. basic facts about autism-definition, human rights, frequency, diagnosis,
b. main challenges and core difficulties - communication, repetitive behaviors/interests,
c. management of behaviors of concern (“challenging behaviors”),
d. Management of accidents and frequent health events,
e. Sexuality and relationships’ issues,
f. Bullying, stigma, social inclusion,
g. Social and family support,
h. Accessibility of services and resources,
k. Different needs at different life periods.
The IPAT Training Module has been delivered to a total of 64 parents (in a group of 16 in each partner country), in a 24 hours’ total duration Parents’ Training Activity, to be moderated by 2 moderators in each country group. The IPAT Module and training material developed in the form of Power point presentations have been translated in the languages corresponding to the 4 partner countries: Greek, Italian, Spanish and Turkish.
